The Danville Professional Firefighters Association has announced its endorsement of Maureen Belko in her run for Danville City Council. Union President Thomas Collins expressed strong support, emphasizing Belko’s financial expertise, leadership, and dedication to improving the lives of Danville’s workers and residents.

Collins highlighted that Belko understands the value of Danville’s people, not just the physical developments in the city. He encouraged both citizens and workers to rally behind her candidacy.

Belko has been vocal about her concerns regarding the city’s spending priorities, pointing out that while millions have been spent on splash pads and council salaries have tripled, the city lags in areas like infrastructure and city services.

“We need to focus on our current assets and the people who keep Danville running,” Belko said.

Her endorsement by the firefighters union reflects her commitment to prioritizing essential services and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
